Lincoln Electric Reports Record Sales Quarter of $727.1 MillionLincoln Electric Holdings, Inc. (the “Company”) (Nasdaq: LECO) yesterday reported first quarter 2012 net income of $64.2 million, or $0.76 per diluted share. Sales were $727.1 million in the first quarter 2012 versus $599.2 million in the comparable 2011 period, an increase of 21.4%. Operating income for the first quarter increased $32.2 million to $91.7 million, or 12.6% of sales, from $59.5 million, or 9.9% of sales, in the comparable 2011 period.

International Institute of Welding Taps Lincoln Electric’s Harry Sadler to Chair Shipbuilding Committee CLEVELAND - Harry Sadler, manager, military and shipbuilding, at Lincoln Electric has been appointed to chair the International Institute of Welding's Select Committee on Shipbuilding. In addition to having spent more than 40 years gaining expertise in arc welding methods and processes at Lincoln Electric, Mr. Sadler has a long history of involvement in technical societies. His leadership roles have included serving on the Welding Research Council Board of Directors and as Section Chair of the American Welding Society. He is also a life member of the American Welding Society. |
