Lincoln Electric Goes Mobile

Cleveland – Now more than ever, people rely on their mobile devices to get the information they need on-the-go. Responding to the trend, Lincoln Electric has launched a mobile-friendly version of the company’s online newsroom. The first of its kind in the welding industry, the mobile-friendly site makes it convenient and easy to access news and product information from Lincoln Electric anytime, anywhere.

The newsroom can be accessed at newsroom.lincolnelectric.com from any computer, tablet, or smartphone; mobile users automatically will be re-directed to the brand-new, mobile-friendly site. The site retains the majority of the current online newsroom’s features, including news releases, images, and videos, but it presents them in a more simplified layout that can easily be read on any mobile device.

Following in the newsroom’s footsteps, select aspects of the Lincoln Electric general website became mobile-friendly in time for the recent FABTECH show in Las Vegas. Smartphone users at FABTECH could scan a QR code on select Lincoln Electric products displayed at the show and then were directed to a mobile-friendly, all-inclusive product page on the website for additional information.

“Lincoln Electric has a history as a welding industry leader in equipment, consumable and education technology innovations, and this mobile newsroom is just one more way to move the company forward to meet the changing expectations of our customers,” says Greg Coleman, Group Leader, Marketing Communications, at Lincoln Electric. “There is little doubt that mobile technology is here to stay and making meaningful inroads in our industry. Our mobile newsroom and our use of QR codes during FABTECH 2012 reflect that trend by providing a complete news resource and company information in an easily accessible format.”
