New Online Return on Investment (ROI) Calculator Determines Potential Welding Training Savings
Cleveland - Lincoln Electric
announces a new online calculator that can be used to determine the return on investment of installing virtual reality welding training simulators. The calculator
tabulates the cost and potential savings of utilizing a virtual welding training program in multiple areas such as materials costs, welding gas and electricity.
“The calculator takes into account the cost of base metal, welding wire and rod, welding gas and electricity cost,” notes Deanna Postlethwaite, Virtual Reality Welding Training Business Unit Manager. “After entering the information related to your training program, you can instantly see the estimated savings.
“This payback calculator uses real conditions and real numbers to help welding instructors determine how the VRTEX® virtual reality welding training system
from Lincoln Electric could decrease costs in welding training programs,” Postlethwaite says. “The VRTEX 360 and the VRTEX Mobile training systems use the latest technology to immerse the student in a realistic and exciting training experience. The VRTEX training systems have proven to increase welding training efficiency, improve training results and reduce welding training time.”
Once the VRTEX training system is implemented, welding instructors can continue to monitor, track and verify savings with the Weldometer™ Instructor Tool built into the virtual welding simulator. The Weldometer tool tracks material usage, welding time, gases and consumables.
“As the demand for welders and skilled workers continues to rise, the focus on attracting and training the next manufacturing workforce is of major importance. Adding a VRTEX virtual reality training system can help achieve the results welding schools and training programs need in an extremely cost-effective way,” Postlethwaite says.
