Lincoln Electric and Industry Partner to Discuss Skills Gap Challenges/Solutions at International Workboat Show in New Orleans

Cleveland – The maritime industry, along with other industrial and manufacturing sectors, faces obstacles in filling welding positions and retaining skilled welders. New approaches to training can help overcome this challenge.
During the International Workboat Show at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Deanna Postlethwaite, Business Unit Manager of Virtual Welding Training for Lincoln Electric, along with industry partner William Krev of Trinity Industries Inc. will discuss how integrating new training technologies not only increases weld training efficiency and effectiveness, but can also reduce costs.
Join Postlethwaite and Krev on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., for their presentation, “Integrating Technology to Increase Efficiency and Effectiveness of Welding Training.”
"Fabricators often have a difficult time identifying, testing and/or training skilled welders.  It can be a costly and time consuming activity," Postlethwaite notes. "William Krev and I will present attendees with training methods and new technologies that can be used to enhance the screening process and supplement and accelerate welding training and qualification. These tools are providing improved student engagement and comprehension. More importantly, they are helping to deliver improved results from the students and the instructors."
