Cleveland – Lincoln Electric has introduced its new limited edition VIKING™ EAA™ auto darkening welding helmet, an addition to the company’s 700G Series. This new helmet debuted at the recent Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture™ show. Lincoln Electric will be donating $10 from every sale to the EAA Young Eagles™ program.
EAA is a group of individuals that build their own airplanes as well as those interested in antique airplanes, classics, war birds, aerobatic aircraft, ultralights, helicopters and contemporary manufactured aircraft. As an official sponsor of EAA, Lincoln Electric is an active participant at EAA events across the country. This sponsorship includes hosting TIG (GTAW) welding training courses, providing equipment for hands-on welding and participating as an exhibitor in both national and regional shows.
The EAA Young Eagles program provides youth ages 8-17 an opportunity to fly in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.
The VIKING EAA auto-darkening helmet is solar powered, lightweight and fully loaded with a number of features and accessories. The helmet also features a 3.78 x 1.85 in. (96 x 47 mm) view size with continuously variable nine to 13 external shade control. The 700G Series is magnifying cheater lens capable and also includes continuous variable delay (0.1 – 1.0 sec.) and sensitivity.
Weighing in at 18 oz. (510 g), the helmet is lighter in weight than many auto-darkening helmets. Its solar-powered system comes with battery assistance instead of an on/off switch. All VIKING helmets also have a grind mode for weld prep and post-weld clean up.
Each limited edition EAA welding helmet comes with a free Sport-Pak style welding helmet bag and Lincoln Electric bandana.
Lincoln Electric’s limited edition VIKING EAA auto-darkening helmets are available at local welding distributors. Or visit www.lincolnelectric.com to obtain Bulletin MC10-70 to learn more.
