Lincoln Electric Equipment and Welders Featured in New BattleBots Series
Cleveland – Lincoln Electric recently provided support during the filming of ABC TV Network’s newest series, “BattleBots.” According to ABC, the new series, which airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. EST, “promises to wow viewers with next generation robots—bigger, faster and stronger than ever before. The show will focus on the design and build of each robot, the bot builder backstories, their intense pursuit of the championship and the spectacle of the event.”
A team of Lincoln Electric welders, which included former welding instructors Scott Skrjanc and Lon Damon (now members of the company’s marketing team), helped contestants prepare and repair their robots during the three-day shoot.
In addition to personnel, Lincoln Electric provided equipment and gear to the set, including MIG and TIG welding equipment, fume extraction, helmets, jackets and gloves, contributing to a safe and professional welding environment.
“We loved having the opportunity to show welding in an application that the typical person wouldn’t associate with our products,” Skrjanc says.
Adds Damon, “Seeing welding on ‘BattleBots’ creates awareness of welding in a fun and exciting way. The teams were under the gun to keep their robots up and running during the competition. Welding was a vital part of that effort.”
