Cleveland — Lincoln Electric has developed new SuperArc® L-59 Competitive Comparison Guides that visually show the advantages of its MIG wire over competitive solid MIG and metal-cored wires.
SuperArc L-59 (ER70S-6) mild steel solid MIG wire features superior bead appearance, higher travel speeds and better performance on mill scale than other mild steel wires on the market. When compared to competitive metal-cored wires, SuperArc L-59 features superior weld cleanliness, penetration and paintability.
To prove these claims, Lincoln Electric conducted a series of repeatable lab tests – directly comparing SuperArc L-59 wire against other leading wires. The results were definitive – SuperArc L-59 topped both competitive solid MIG and metal-cored wires in a variety of areas, including bead appearance and cleanliness, penetration and travel speeds.
The new Competitive Comparison Guides include pictures of the actual test samples and the welding procedures used. Available for download online, these guides can be used by customers to run tests of their own and see the advantages of SuperArc L-59 first-hand.
Features such as improved arc deoxidizing, wetting action and an engineered alloy system are what set SuperArc L-59 apart. The new deoxidizing arc tolerates higher amounts of surface contaminants and minimizes pre-weld surface preparation. The engineered alloy system enhances silicon island management for reduced post-weld clean up.
These new features make SuperArc L-59 ideal for automated welding, single and multiple-pass welds and for use in the automotive, structural, pipeline, offshore, and general and heavy fabrication industries.
